Getting
Up Close With The Whales
It really is
amazing the reaction that many people have when Whale Watching,
spontaneous tears of joy are not uncommon when virtually Face to
Face with such a magnificent ( & huge) creature. Quick Cat 2 was
designed & built by Brian & Jill Perry specifically for
Whale Watching cruises in Hervey Bay, the uncluttered, spacious twin
level decks are a great platform for whale watching (personally the
best whale watch vessel that I have been on anywhere in the world),
the main deck is as low to the water as possible, allowing you
to be almost at water level as a beautiful animal that is almost as
big and in most cases heavier than Quick Cat 2 come within meters on
many cruises.
I think I had
the best day Whale Watching ever last Wednesday, we had just about
everything that whale could do for us: Mugged by 4 inquisitive
whales for over 2 hours in almost lake like conditions with spy
hops within 1 meter of the boat, pectoral fin and tail fluke
slapping, whales chasing each other round and round, a couple of
magnificent breaches less then 100 meters away, 2 dolphin species
plus a sighting of not 1 but 2 extremely rare dwarf Minke whales on
our way home.
Many
people aren't aware that I am a University Qualified Marine
Scientist ( As.Diploma Aquatic Resource Management 1988 University
of Central QLD) and that I have over 7 years experience working
on tourist vessels on the Great Barrier Reef as a Reef Guide.
Some other
points of difference between us and the other Hervey Bay Whale
Watch Day Trips are; the freshly made scones with Jam &
Cream at our morning tea stop, mini bus transfers to reduce
delays on pick-up and drop off and a very relaxed atmosphere, the
earliest return to the sunshine coast of the afternoon cruises as
Quick Cat 2 gets back to harbour at 5pm ( Spirit & Tasman
Venture 5:30pm) this allows us to be back in Noosa by 7:30pm and
Maroochydore by 8:15 on almost all trips.
I

with your guests on our Whale Watching Tour & Cruise package. Georgie
