The Frazer Coast & South Burnett Tourism
Awards where held last weekend, Brian & Jill Perry's "Hervey
Bay Whale Watch" took out the Best Whale Watch Operator
for the 3rd year running as well as the Access Tourism
Award for the second year.
The Whales have been great for the last couple of
weeks, lots of new mum's with calves and plenty of action with pods of
up to 12 whales chasing each other around with the males vying for the
attention of the ladies. I was talking to a group on Quick Cat 2 the
other day that had been whale watching off Brisbane recently and they
where amazed at the difference between Hervey Bay and Brisbane Whale
watching experiences. The calmer waters (it was blowing 25 knots from
the SE with less than .5m of wind chop), smaller guest numbers and the
behaviour of the whales in Hervey Bay made the extra journey well worth
while in their opinion ( I have to agree with them). Apart from the
magnificent Whales our journey also passes through some great Australian
country side plus the historic towns of Gympie and Maryborough, our
overseas guests have commented on how much they really enjoyed this
aspect of the tour.
If your guests are looking at going Whale Watching
I ask you to consider our tour, let them experience the Best Whale Watch
Operation in Hervey Bay. Our transfer service includes a delicious Devonshire
Tea on the journey up to Hervey Bay, small groups to minimises time lost
with pick-ups and stops (we are regularly back in Noosa by 7:30pm and
Maroochy/Mooloolaba 8:00pm), they also have my extensive local knowledge
and marine science background to answer any questions they may have.
